Best Books for the Wife, Mom & Homemaker

Dear Wife, Mom, and Homemaker,

You are the glue that holds the family together. You are the one who makes it happen, who keeps the peace, who spends more time than ever thinking about things such as food, organizing, birthday presents, and baseboards that need cleaning. You are the one who gives, and gives, and gives and rarely receives a thank you. You are the one who stays up at night wondering if you are doing enough to teach your children, love your husband, and be a friend.

You will never be enough, nor will you ever be able to do it all. That is OK though, because God is enough. We need to be filled with God's love, strength, and knowledge so that we are able to live out God's will for our lives.

We as wives, mothers, and homemakers and as the women of this world need to make sure we are filling up our tanks with God's word so that we can be confident, satisfied, loving givers of life. Here are some of my top pick books to help you fill your tank. The Holy Bible will always come first and devotions, novels, and self-help books will always come second to me.

  • Desperate: Hope for the Mom who Needs to Breath by Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson
  • The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
  • The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands by Lysa Terkeurst
  • NIV Life Application Study Bible by Zondervan
  • Women Living Well by Courtney Joseph
  • One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
  • The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life by Bruce Wilkinson
  • The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears by Mark Batterson
"For this reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge.." (1 Peter 1:5)
